Welcome in Ajaccio, transfer to Zonza

Welcome in Ajaccio, meeting with your guide and the other participants. A transfer to the south of the island will take you to the Alta Rocca region. Check-in at your hotel in the village of Zonza, at the foot of the Aiguilles de Bavella.

DAY 2

Alta Rocca Villages and Cucuruzzu

Starting from Levie, the main village of the Alta Rocca, you'll follow in the footsteps of a remarkable historical past, where a fabulous journey back in time awaits you with a visit to the prehistoric Bronze Age site of Cucuruzzu. The region is characterized by its unique architecture, with massive granite buildings bearing witness to this rich history.

DAY 3

The Cuscionu Plateau and its pozzines

A transfer through the Alta Rocca will take you to villages such as Quenza and Serra di Scopamène. From the San Petru chapel, you'll climb 1,500 meters to the Cuscionu plateau, a former shepherd's territory. This rocky, verdant site is populated by horses, cows and free-ranging pigs. You'll cross stretches of spongy grass punctuated by pozzines formed by small streams.

DAY 4

Boat trip and stroll in Bonifacio

Head for the far south for a pleasant day on the coast, with a must-see on the program: Bonifacio and its magnificent cliffs. After a short walk around the town, you'll visit its protective ramparts, a real leap back in history. You'll then embark on a boat trip to appreciate up close the natural sculptures of the sea on the cliffs and limestone caves on which this ancient Genoese fortress is built.

Bavella and the Trou de la Bombe

After yesterday's sea day, hike through the forest of the famous Bavella massif to the “trou de la bombe” or “Tafonu di Cumpuleddu”, a spectacular geological phenomenon that creates an impressive hole in the rock. Climb the few meters up to the promontory, and enjoy incomparable views of the Aiguilles de Bavella and the nearby sea.
