At the heart of attractive Île-Rousse in the Balagne region is a wonderful market, held in the covered marketplace every day of the week in both summer and winter.
On arrival you’re greeted by a thousand delectable scents. Charcuterie, cheeses, migliacci, wines, fruit and vegetables, honey, fish caught fresh that morning... all displayed on stalls as colourful as each other.
There’s a festive and joyous atmosphere here, where sellers have been welcoming local residents and visitors with friendly chat for decades.
