Presentation

Vizzavona is known to hikers as the mid-point on the GR20, the long-distance footpath which crosses Corsica. Situated on the Trinichellu (little train) line and the Ajaccio-Bastia road, this town is a good place to start or finish a walk for those who do not wish (or are unable) to do the whole route. This is also the starting point for the climb up Monte d'Oru or, for less active visitors, for a visit to the ""Cascades des Anglais"" on the Agnone river. The state-owned forest here is particularly interesting for its Laricio pines.
