Presentation
A beautiful village overlooking the Plaine Orientale. It is between Mignataja and Piediquarciu that you can explore the ruined chateau of Covasina, one of the most important fortified chateaux of the Middle Ages (X century), situated on the site of what was most likely a Roman oppidum. The site overlooks the plain and offers a beautiful panoramic view across the entire coastline. The chateau of Covasina is also known as the Castellu di Carlomagno or Castello Alemano, because it was contructed following a Corsican mission lead by a Germanic lord.
