Every 3 May, the people of Bastia come to honour the Black Christ of Miracles. This crucifix, found at sea in 1428, is housed in the superb Sainte-Croix oratory in Bastia's citadel. A procession of fishermen, brotherhoods and faithful make their way to Bastia's old port, where the traditional "blessing of the sea" takes place.
