Relaxation and relaxation day in sight...

15-20 minutes from Propriano on the road that leads into the Alta Rocca, a small trail leads into the heart of the Land of Lords. It’s the route to Caldane and its thermal baths, known for their amazing therapeutic and relaxing properties; the sulphurous water is ideal for curing skin and bone ailments, throat and sinus problems, eczema, or simply for relaxing in.

This is Corsica’s oldest thermal spring, there since Roman times, which inspires respect and admiration for this timeless place.

But for the moment, today – 25 January – I slipped into the 37-degree water for 20 minutes. The outside temperature was 13 degrees and the warm winter sun warmed my shoulders.

A pure moment of relaxation and relaxation just for me, in a calm environment with the silence disturbed only by the sound of the river flowing near the baths.

Then Marie, the masseuse of the place, whispered in my ear that the massage table was ready: after the bath, with skin and the mind prepared for relaxation, I allowed myself 30 minutes of relaxation with a leg/back/face massage at the expert hands of Marie, who works in a charming wooden chalet, entirely conducive to a zen attitude and letting go.

It’s a truly beneficial day for body and mind. I returned home feeling very much better and healed from the strains of everyday life, with only one desire: to return!
