PROGRAM

DAY 1 AJACCIO-BONIFACIO
Distance: 123 km / D+: 2312 m

We welcome you early in the morning in Ajaccio. This first stage takes us to the extreme tip of the great south, jumping from one gulf to another, from Ajaccio to that of Valinco, to finish at the white cliffs of Bonifacio: beautiful beaches of fine sand, Genoese towers, small wild bays and pretty climbs in perspective.

DAY 2 BONIFACIO-ZICAVO
Distance: 110 km / D+: 2235 m

From the Ospedale to the Aiguilles de Bavella, the road (stage of the Tour de France 2013) takes us to the upper Taravo valley and its typical villages nestled in the greenery. We go up the course of the torrent to the Vaccia pass (1193 m) followed by a long descent between chestnut and beech trees to Zicavo (735 m).

3RD DAY ZICAVO-CORTE
Distance: 101 km / D+: 2305 m

This exceptional inland road offers us the passage of two famous passes: Verde (1289) and Sorba (1311). Then we go back down towards the Vecchio valley and its green meadows to reach Corte, the historic capital of independent Corsica.

4TH DAY CORTE-BASTIA
Distance: 100 km / D+: 2012 m

By a route of secondary roads, we return to the Nebbio region and cross the hinterland dotted with hamlets and sheepfolds. The splendid Romanesque church of San Michele is a must-see stop.

DAY 5 BASTIA-SAINT-FLORENT
Distance: 108 km / D+: 1696 m

Cap Corse offers a magnificent coastal road that allows you to go around it. The road cut into a cornice runs along the shore, along pretty little marinas. On the western slope, the steep coast spectacularly dominates the shore, overlooked by Genoese towers and on the ridges, windmills.

DAY 6 SAINT-FLORENT-ALGAJOLA
Distance: 103 km / D+: 1671 m

The stage begins by crossing the Agriates desert, a burning pile of rocks and low scrubland. We return to Giussani, a beautiful green enclave integrated into the regional natural park. Finally, the promontory villages of Haute Balagne offer us breathtaking panoramic views of the bays of Calvi and Ile Rousse.

7TH DAY ALGAJOLA-PORTO
Distance: 100 km / D+: 1828 m

The road takes us to the rich western coast of Corsica. At the Palmarella pass (408m) one of the most beautiful panoramas of our stay awaits us: the Gulf of Girolata and the Scandola nature reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fauna (fishing eagles, etc.) and flora of this entire region are exceptional.

8TH DAY PORTO-AJACCIO
Distance: 98 km / D+: 1723 m

Crossing the Calanches de Piana (Unesco World Heritage): a small pink cornice road winds its way through jagged rock piles: breathtaking! Then we continue towards Cargèse and its two churches: the Greek and the Latin face each other above the sea. A final effort to climb to the Col de Sarcoggio to admire the beautiful Gulf of Sagone.
