Road trip & hiking: the must-sees with Couleur Corse

 rando couleur corse

A week on the trails that make Corsica THE hiking destination.
One day overlooking the sea, another skirting the highest peaks and the next plunging into the cool pools of a rushing torrent. Each hike is unique, but they all have one thing in common: they're all exceptional and unmissable.

TOUR PROGRAM

Day 1: Col de Vizzavona and GR 20
Head for the Col de Vizzavona and the GR 20. Following it southwards, you reach the Col de Palmente and the Alzeta sheepfolds. Superb views of the east coast. Head north along the Agnone and past the Cascade des Anglais. You leave the many tourists behind to enjoy the most beautiful bathing spots.
Other possible activities: canyoning, adventure park, mountain biking.

Day 2: Melu and Capitellu lakes
The Melu and Capitellu lakes are stars! Both superb and easy to get to, they are (suffer?) from very high visitor numbers.
We suggest you continue up to the ridges over which the GR 20 winds.
The crowds are far below and there's nothing to stop your gaze.
Other activities include canyoning, a visit to Corte and the ethnographic museum.

Day 3: Lake Ninu
Today you're invited to a wine tasting. The variety of landscapes and terrain you'll cross will allow you to “taste” all the facets of this mountain, sometimes rough and chaotic, sometimes gentle and relaxing, always spectacular.
After two and a half hours of hard climbing, the discovery of Lake Ninu in its grassy setting is the most beautiful reward a hiker can dream of.
Other activities: adventure park, horseback riding.

Day 4: The upper Golu valley and the GR 20
At the foot of Paglia Orba and Capu Tafunatu, arguably the most beautiful pair of mountains on the island, the upper Golu valley allows you to hike to your heart's content. You'll reach Ciottulu di i Mori, the GR 20's highest refuge, unless the Golu's limpid basins hold you back for a more leisurely day. The flora adapted to the rigors of winter, the complex geology of the Tulla valley and, at the beginning of the season, the chance to observe a herd of moufflons all add to the appeal of this foray into the high mountains.

Day 5: Ota and the Gulf of Porto
The canopy of arbutus and holm oak opens up to reveal the surrounding landscape. With the sea as a backdrop, the needles of red granite emerge from the green immensity of the maquis.
This loop on the heights of Ota takes place on the old stone paths. Ruined sheepfolds, chestnut drying sheds and chestnut groves bear witness to bygone days.
Other activities include diving, boat hire and a visit to the Scandola reserve.

Day 6: Calanche de Piana and Capu d'Orto
In the Gorges du Verdon, a place called Le Point Sublime offers the most aesthetic view of the gorge.
Our Point Sublime is called Capu d'Ortu.
From its summit (1,294 m, less than 3 km from the sea) you have a perfect view of the Gulf of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The nearby world in which this hike takes place further enhances the overall panorama. The path winds through a maze of tafoni-sculpted rocks, bordered by scrubland and pine groves.

An exceptional stage to end your tour.

Other possible activities: canyoning, diving.
