An ideal hike for people wishing to start on this legendary trek without facing the technical difficulties with Corsica Aventure
Discover the famous GR20 on a moderate level route, extending from the Col de Verde to Vizzavona. At the beginning of the circuit, the path will take you to the Prati refuge crossing the ridges. You will continue through the Ghisoni forest to the Capanelle sheepfolds and near Lake Bastani.
Taking an old mule track, an ascent towards the Bocca Palmente will reveal a breathtaking panorama before concluding this stage with a descent to Vizzavona. Continuing north, you will explore the green valley of the Agnone and the picturesque sheepfolds of Porteto.

DAY 1
From Ajaccio to Col de Verde
Welcome in Ajaccio and meet your guide. Transfer lasting approximately 2h30 towards the Haut Taravo region and Col de Verde. On the way, you will pass through the villages of Cauro, Grosseto, Cozzano and Zicavo. Installation at the gîte located at Col de Verde, your accommodation in the heart of the Sant’Antone forest.

DAY 2
Climb to the Prati refuge
You will head towards the ridges by taking a path that winds through the Saint Antoine forest. The GR20 will take you to the Bocca d’Oru pass. The panorama is breathtaking. To the east, the horizon offers a breathtaking view of the immense Tyrrhenian Sea and its string of islands. The Costa Verde coastline is outlined with its Diana and Urbino ponds. To the west, the majestic Renosu and Monte d'Oro massifs dominate the landscape.

DAY 3
From Col de Verde to Capanelle
The GR20 leads to Col de la Flasca, crossing landscapes mixing forests and mountain panoramas. The route, with a gentler relief, is marked by vegetation dominated in particular by the Corsican pine, a species endemic to Corsica and a symbol of its forestry industry. After crossing the Marmano stream, you will discover the Traghjette sheepfolds.

DAY 4
Monte Renoso and Lake Bastani
The hike begins with a climb towards the South-West, following the Pietra Niella ridge, to the source of Pizzolo. The route then continues through enormous granite blocks to emerge on a mineral plateau near Lake Bastani. Along the ridges of Punta Bacinello, you will reach the summit of Monte Renosu, which peaks at 2352 m above sea level. From this point, you will have a panoramic view of the main Corsican peaks.

DAY 5
From Capanelle to Vizzavona
This last stage of the southern section of the GR20 will first take you along an old mule track, forming a gentle curve, to the Scarpaccedie sheepfolds. This path winds along a contour line through the beech groves of the vast Ghisoni forest. You will then pass over the wooded ridges of Cardo to reach the Bergeries d'Alzeta, located just after the Assatojo stream. A short climb will take you to Bocca Palmentu, a superb viewpoint. The hike ends with a pleasant descent through the undergrowth of the Vizzavona forest.

DAY 6
The Agnone Valley and the Cascade des Anglais
Following the GR20 North, the route winds through the dense Corsican pine forest of Vizzavona. In a shaded and refreshing setting, you will reach the Cascade des Anglais. The ascent will then take you to the splendid Porteto sheepfolds, nestled at the bottom of the winding and lush Agnone Valley. After the hike, a transfer will take you to Ajaccio.
